True, what’s with the orange?
When talking about the best heart rate monitor for 2012 it becomes a question of what style do you want. However, because I know that answer sucks I will just go out on a limb and say that most people would benefit from the general fitness heart rate monitors. The one’s with calories counters, heart rate monitors and training guidance programs that not just help you get more fit but force you.
That being said I would like to say the Polar FT60 and the Polar FT7 are the 2 sweet spot heart rate monitors that seem to be the most capable of transforming “normal” peoples routines for the better. I say normal only because I want to talk to the non-triathletes here. The FT60 and FT7 are not the most expensive monitors that have all the best features. What they do have is the best combination of price, style and functionality.
The FT60 is about $130-150 and you can get the FT7 for about $80-100. I personally own the FT7 and love it. It is the most affordable Polar monitor with data upload.

Liev Schreiber, Glorious Goon
GQ: What did you learn about how to win a hockey fight?
Liev Schreiber: “It’s all about balance and position. The guy who trained me taught me right off the bat that it’s all about position and skating. Obviously the bigger guy is the bigger his hands are, the more dangerous he is, and the scarier he is. But anybody can throw a punch. The whole thing is about intimidation.”
I bought the Polar FT7 and have been using it like a mad man. I love it and recommend it. I published my full Polar FT7 Review at that link.
Here’s a quick image of the Polar FT7 - nice? There 27 images in my review. Hope you enjoy it and love the Polar FT7.
